Collect numeric values from a set range using a slider interface.

Range fields capture structured, scoreable data that's ideal for rating scales, satisfaction levels, or graduated assessments. The visual slider makes it easy for audit users to quickly select values, while the standardized format ensures consistent scoring across venues and audit users.

In reports, range data can be averaged, compared across locations, tracked over time, and used to calculate overall scores or identify outliers.

Parameters

Minimum Value (optional)

The lowest number an auditor can enter in this field. Useful for enforcing valid ranges. For example, setting minimum value of 0 for questions where negative numbers don't make sense, or setting 18 as minimum for legal age checks. If left blank, auditors can enter any number including negatives.

Maximum Value (optional)

The highest number an auditor can enter in this field. Useful for catching data entry errors or enforcing compliance limits. For example, setting maximum temperature of 5°C for refrigeration checks. If left blank, there's no upper limit.

Step Size (required)

The increments by which values increase along the slider. Example: Step size of 1 creates whole number increments (0, 1, 2, 3...). Step size of 0.5 allows half-point ratings (0, 0.5, 1, 1.5...). Step size of 10 creates larger jumps (0, 10, 20, 30...). Smaller steps provide more granular ratings. Larger steps simplify choices.

Prepend Text (optional)

Text displayed before the number on the slider and in results. Use for currency symbols, measurement indicators, or context. Example: "$" for cost ratings, "Level " for hierarchical scales. If left blank, only the number appears.

Append Text (optional)

Text displayed after the number on the slider and in results. Use for units of measurement or descriptive labels. Example: "kg" for weight, "/10" to show it's out of ten, "°C" for temperature. If left blank, only the number appears.

Instructions (optional)

Additional guidance for auditors on how to answer this question. Use for specific requirements, where to find information, or clarification on what should be included. Example: "Check the duty roster on the staff room wall" or "Include both first and last name." If left blank, no instructions appear - only the display prompt shows.

Field Key (system generated)

A unique identifier generated automatically. Used internally for data processing and reporting. Do not edit this field.
