Collect a numeric value and optionally restrict to a minimum / maximum range.
Numeric fields capture structured data that can be analyzed mathematically in reports, for example to calculate averages, track trends over time, compare values across venues, or flag outliers that fall outside acceptable ranges.
Parameters
Display Prompt (required)
The question or label shown to auditors completing the checklist. Should clearly indicate what information is expected. Example: "Describe any damage observed" or "Number of soap dispensers." Cannot be left blank - the field won't save without a display prompt.
Minimum Value (optional)
The lowest number an auditor can enter in this field. Useful for enforcing valid ranges. For example, setting minimum value of 0 for questions where negative numbers don't make sense, or setting 18 as minimum for legal age checks. If left blank, auditors can enter any number including negatives.
Maximum Value (optional)
The highest number an auditor can enter in this field. Useful for catching data entry errors or enforcing compliance limits. For example, setting maximum temperature of 5°C for refrigeration checks. If left blank, there's no upper limit.
Default Value (optional)
A number that appears automatically when the form loads. Can be changed by the auditor. Useful for typical or expected values. For example, defaulting to 20 for "Number of toilet cubicles" in standard venue layouts. If left blank, the field starts empty (or shows the placeholder if one is set).
Placeholder - Numeric (optional)
Example number displayed in the empty field before the auditor enters their answer. Shows the expected format. Example: "e.g. 3.5" or "Enter whole number." If both Placeholder and Default Value are blank, the field appears empty. If Default Value is set, it takes precedence over the placeholder.
Instructions (optional)
Additional guidance for auditors on how to answer this question. Use for specific requirements, where to find information, or clarification on what should be included. Example: "Check the duty roster on the staff room wall" or "Include both first and last name." If left blank, no instructions appear - only the display prompt shows.
Field Key (system generated)
A unique identifier generated automatically. Used internally for data processing and reporting. Do not edit this field.
